Mrs Hegarty's Kaffir Lily.....
.....a flower which lead me up the garden path and beyond with many names it was so confusing. Eventually I discovered it had a name change from Schizostylis coccinea to Hesperantha coccinea, Mrs Hegarty didn't help with her different spelling of Haggerty.
The correct name is Hesperantha coccinea Mrs Hegarty who was an Irish cultivar for this beautiful flower.
An autumn flower which graces my garden on the western side of our house where it soaks up the afternoon sun. The pretty petals remain closed on overcast days and in the evening.
Thanks to Anni for hosting Flower Friday :)
Friday.....bright sunny sky with a light breeze, 18C
