Cherry Blossom
When I moved into the area over 25 years ago, Earlswood Park was a part of a Garden Centre and Nursery specialising in Rhododendron. However, with a large number of other centres within a few miles radius it eventually could not complete, and today the main site is a well known "posh" supermarket, with sports, pets and sandwich outlets. The rest of the site is a small housing estate and the park, which is more akin to a nature reserve, and has been designed to encourage dog and other walkers to user rather than the more precious Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) sites nearby.
I had hoped that some more of the Rhododendron bushes retained on the site would be in flower, but most probably need a few more weeks. However, this flowering ornamental cherry gave me my subject to today's Flower Friday Challenge.
