Someone Was Happy

I was out with Finlay just after 06:30 and the sun was shining in a clear blue sky… this chap was singing his heart out in the tree top. Sadly not one of my shots has him with his beak open!

Quite a severe crop even with the 300 lens at full stretch - (centre block of a 3x3 grid - a 9th of the frame).  Doesn’t look too bad at blip resolution though!

Spent the morning making jam - a batch of blackcurrant and a batch of raspberry using up the last of the fruit from the freezer. Still got a couple of kilos of redcurrants to use - but we don’t need any more redcurrant jelly!

Had to pop to the supermarket again - I have run out of coffee (doh) - too busy thinking about other things yesterday. Anyway - bread shelves and meat shelves stripped bare in Aldi and Morrison’s, I got a small pack of chicken thighs which was about all that was left.

Mother in law has been diagnosed with vascular dementia and Alzheimer’s - apparently has changed rapidly in the last few weeks. We thought that last time we saw her she seemed different but was difficult to tell as she has been a little confused anyway since her stroke(s). The retirement village where she lives are being ultra cautious about visitors - so we don’t know when we will get to see her next. Sister in law is trying to get a GP appointment - not easy - to set up a DNR order.
