Stockpiling

Headed to Cardiff today to deliver my talk to the Cardiff Transplant Cafe.  Given the ever developing situation of coronavirus we were worried about whether anyone might attend, patients were a bit thin on the ground but there was quite a few from the NHS.  They all enjoyed my talk about my kidney journey and there was plenty of discussion from it.  

There was one nurse there that worked on the children's dialysis unit and after she heard I write children's stories she asked if I could write some for children who were on dialysis.  I'm up for that challenge!

Cardiff was a bit quiet, so before I left I nipped to a bookshop so I could start stockpiling books to get me through this self isolation that is coming.  Lol!

Today I am thankful for:

1.  Being able to share my kidney story
2.  Having the potential opportunity to make a difference for kids who have to go through dialysis
3.  Book shopping, I can see I'm going to be doing a lot over the next few weeks
