Floodplain

Today's the day ………………………. to engulf

More evidence today (like yesterday) of the high tides causing the River Dee to burst its banks.

Everybody seems to take it all in their stride though - it is a floodplain after all and this happens every year.  At any rate, it doesn't seem to deter the dog-walkers, who find themselves confined to a causeway between the river and the submerged fields (see extra).  Eventually, it all goes away and everything returns to normal.

Let's hope the same can be said about the present chaos gripping the world and engulfing everyone in its wake ……………………...
