Our gutsy PM has reinforced her reputation late this afternoon, announcing measures to keep NZ safer longer from the Covid-19 virus.

All incoming passengers into NZ, from any country in the world, including NZ naturals, will be required from Sunday night NZ time, to self-isolate for 14 days. No exemptions. This doesn’t include imports by sea or plane, or their staff.

The aim is to flat-line or contain the effects of the still-expected virus, instead of having to mitigate its effects, as Italy for eg has had to do.

NZ has been doing this successfully for some time now with some countries, but is now extending it to include all countries. We are being urged to reconsider all non-essential travel outside NZ.

It’s all remarkable and I’m in full agreement with Jacinda Ardern & her team.
