Friday 13th

Not the best couple of days ever. The last indoor meeting of the winter season for our local wildlife group went off successfully yesterday evening, despite a rather small turn out. Today all future indoor meetings of the Wildlife Trust were cancelled because of the increasing spread of Covid-19. While the meeting was taking place I received a message to confirm that the hen-do that I was supposed to be attending this weekend in London had been cancelled for the same reason.

Today it became clear that Chris and Lizzy's wedding, due to be held  in Cyprus on 10th April, will also be cancelled. People from the UK are not being allowed to enter the island at all from 15th - 30th March, and I suspect that period will be extended, as the situation here is only going to get worse. So we shall have to cancel our flights and villa, and miss the holiday I've been looking forward to for over a year - all very sad, but actually less stressful now that we know what's happening. I so feel for the two of them - Lizzy had just picked up her wedding dress and everything was organised. Now they have no idea when or where they might actually be able to get married.
