Apple blossom
Went for a long, sometimes muddy walk this morning, longer than expected and as I called in to the allotment it was gone 2.30 when we got home and 3.00 when we eventually had lunch.
Not much of the afternoon left when lunch was over. I did the online shopping while Susan had a twang on her guitar. We both spoke to Landon and Chris is California via FaceTime. Both fine, Landon as energetic as ever.
Susan went up to her mum’s to get her dinner, to make sure she takes her medication, do her shopping list and other jobs. Thank you for your concern over Doreen’s health. She is a little better but needs constant care as she can’t do anything for herself. We’re hoping that the antibiotics make a difference soon as it’s too demanding to carry on like this for more than a few days.
And what happens if over 70s have to “self isolate” it’ll be impossible for us or her carers to look after her. The policy seems half baked.
I worked on the slatted door hatch that goes into the loft space under the eves of the back bedroom. The hatch blows out whenever it is windy and the slats, even backed by bubble wrap are draughty. More bubble wrap and cardboard might solve the draughts; I’m not convinced the 28kg force magnetic catches I fitted will hold the hatch when windy.
Today’s blip, of Apple blossom, was from on our walk this morning. The buds are bursting with a few flowers. I hope we don’t have any hard frosts. There’s loads of polytunnels in the area completely surrounding many houses. What an eyesore they are and the machinery being used churns up footpaths, bridleways and other rights of way and leaving mud all over the roads. Is it a price with paying?
