Looking back

Just the most astonishing arena to be in and witness this sunrise, magical indeed. Despite setting off by 8 the heat was building quickly for what seemed like a tough ascent up to the red crater. Brilliantly weird and wonderful shapes and colours with steaming vents appearing round corners. Up there we intersect with the crowds hiking the day crossing and rather than walking against them with another 6hrs to go I decided to take the shortcut and go with the flow hoping to hop onto a shuttle bus back to my car.
With decisions to be taken and phone calls to be made I was pleased to get back to Taupo a bit earlier and treat myself to a private room, oh the joys!
Great to speak with my kids and my parents but it does sound quite spooky back home and not quite sure where I should be right now. Situations are changing so quickly and so too are my plans. See where things are at tomorrow....
