Thinking Too Much?

So I wanted to get something different today.

Snow is receding and I think we have all had enough of that rather British strain of snow. You know the dirty soggy grey stuff that turns to ice overnight. Not that nice light dry stuff the Europeans have.

Here we have a few slip gauges. For the non engineers these are used for accurately measuring heights. They are ground and lapped to be accurate to microns (thousandths of a millimeter).

If you checked the height of the gauges pictured (20mm, 2.5mm and 1.5mm) we have 24, as in the 24th.

Like I said, thinking too much?
