M51

Today I processed the limited data that I was able to collect last night. In the end I only had 5 minutes 35 seconds worth of exposures that merited stacking.
This is a cropped image of the galaxy M51. It is also known as the Whirlpool Galaxy. Located near the end of the Plough's handle it has distance estimates of anything from 23 million light years to over 30 million light years! Calculating distances in space is an ongoing business.
