Luck of the Irish?

Look who stopped by on this rainy and gloomy day in central Maine! It’s our first sighting ever of a Red-bellied Woodpecker!! We are beyond thrilled and wonder how he ended up here of all places? I wish he was more crisp but I was focused elsewhere when he suddenly appeared, and within a few seconds took off. We can only attribute it to luck, Irish luck, on this St. Patrick’s Day! Since we cannot celebrate at our favorite pub, we will be raising our pints to Ireland, our Irish roots, and to my maternal Grandfather, Patrick McSweeney, born County Kerry, 1900. Cheers, All!
