1000 pieces

So Tom won’t be coming home until Friday which strikes me as a bit too far off given how fast things are changing. It’s his girlfriend Sasha’s 21st birthday tomorrow and whilst all celebrations have had to be cancelled, Tom wants to cook her dinner and make it as special as it can be, before they part - she off to Belfast, Tom back to Oxford - for who knows how long.

He texted me whilst I was in Blackwells picking up an emergency stockpile of books - ‘get some big jigsaws please’. Carmen, our ex-lodger who works in the Westgate branch, recommended a 1000 piece Shakespeare puzzle. What will happen to her and others working in retail when shops close is unclear.

Off to pick up Josh tomorrow. Swansea here I come....
