I am trying to make positive use of the old social distancing. We have a large number of, so far unread, art books. I am starting to make my way through them in a sort of self-taught, self-awarded BA in Art History from the University of Our House.

I've started today on this one, which in two volumes tells the detailed story of about 120 pictures. The first was, somewhat ominously, an Egyptian scroll of the dead from c1300BC "The Papyrus of Ani."

I also intend, by using Spotify, each day to listen to at least one album/piece of music which I have never heard before.  Today's was "Atem" by Tangerine Dream (1973) - a suitably doom-laden piece of electronica.  I couldn't find a You Tube link but here they are, playing live at Coventry Cathedral in 1975 - apt as it is my favourite building.
