Fly away

The Government briefing at 5pm tonight (which has become a family gathering together experience) included some measures that will impact our family greatly.  

Most significantly there will be no college for Sam after Friday and no 'A' Level exams to sit in May.  The latter is the reason for a hard-to-disguise smile when he came home today.  We'll see if that is to his advantage in the days to come.

I read the newly defined official recommendation for diabetics on the Government website.  It's social distancing as opposed to social isolation which is the same advice for most of the population unless there are symptoms.  

As a result I've decided to go on a longed for 2-day break with my sister and dogs tomorrow to the north Norfolk coast. No Government suggested protocols will be broken as the plan has always been for massive amounts of fresh air and walking.  

Nevertheless it all feels like the calm before the storm....
