Sign of Autumn

Sad news for my future daughter in-law, Vera.  Her parents flew from Indonesia to attend her wedding but were required by the Vanuatu government to quarantine in Sydney for 14 days before flying on to Port Vila. They were originally to arrive on the 25th. 

With tighter restrictions announced this morning they, and all wedding guests, are now are prohibited from entering Vanuatu without spending a further 14 days in New Zealand. The wedding has had to be postponed indefinitely.

Poor Vera has had the disappointment of a cancelled wedding compounded by not having her much loved parents' visit.  It's been three years since she last saw them and they are yet to meet their baby grandson, Aldo.

I know these measures are absolutely necessary but I feel for people in situations like Vera's.  On a personal note I was looking forward to the wedding, spending quality time family and interacting with my precious grand kids.
