"Old" indeed
It was MOT time for my wife's lovely little Audi A1, a little roller-skate of a car with a very decent turn of speed and acceleration. The garage is owned by a chap who likes fast cars and old cars and he had this little machine in the workshop. The performance of MGBs doesn't come close to modern cars, although mine was great fun to drive.
I had one a year older than this one –SJL996K was the registration. But mine had rusty wings, which I sorted out, and Rostyle wheels – not the lovely alloys on this model.
And I crashed mine, head-on with a lady on a single-track highland road northeast of Aviemore in 1978. The car was repaired, but it cost £800 which I didn't have handy so I had to sell the lovely old girl.
