Ant got the bigger two on a bridge building task while I worked in the attic. When the news came that schools are closing, Eve was crushed. And each wave of realisation saw her retreat a little further into her head. Newsround is such a gift to children like Eve and to me - easy explanations of stuff that’s beyond our understanding. Later on she unpacked a few of her thoughts and I noticed how she did it out of earshot of the boys - she has the protective big sister instinct.

The joy of being at home and not able to socialise locally is time to reach out to friends who are farther afield and catch up.
