That’s the sock drawer sorted
We were woken early by an emergency phone call from Doreen which took over two hours to put right.
After that the rest of the day was out more out of kilter than that caused by the current situation. We were able to order some personal supplies for Doreen and we did manage to get out for a walk to collect prescriptions and deliver it to the pharmacy.
Despite the instructions to practice social distancing there seemed to be people in pubs and cafes we went past. And some people blissfully unaware of what they’re doing: walking along the footpath arm in arm forcing us off the path to maintain our distance.
I have to admire the creativity and dark wit of people. Lots of musicians are streaming performances, people working together to help others. Some of the puns are excellent: @On 1st September 2050 John opened the last packet of toilet paper his parents bought in 2020”
It’s these positive and at times humorous responses that we need to hang on to rather than dwell on those selfish people who are angering many of us. And I received my first State Pension payment today, so it’s not all bad news.....
Now that I’ve tidied my sock drawer there’s a fine, tottering tower of magazines to sort through and plenty of other tasks that Susan has her eye on getting done.
