As I took this I could feel the slide ..
As I return to write this it is just 5 days later and after the P.M. has just announced a national lockdown except for essential activity.

To be honest, I was surprised to be going to work as normal all this week starting 16th and it felt more and more uncomfortable with an unsettling lack of communication and leadership. When I took this I had spent the day in my windowless space in what felt like the Marie Celeste and at least 3 of the people I saw would have fit the ‘vulnerable’ criteria who had come regardless of my suggestions that it might be best not to but knowing I didn’t have the authority to say don’t. It turned out to be the last day before the decision was made (elsewhere) that forced moving to working on the phone the next day (but still being told to drive 90 miles to do it ... I passed a road accident with police and ambulance in attendance as I drove in). Thank goodness I’d booked the next week off to allow for what has now come into place.

I have many thoughts about ‘isolation’ but will perhaps come back to those.
