The power of flowers.
We had an e-mail from M & S last night to say that from today, the first hour of trading was for the over 70's and the vulnerable, and thereafter, Monday & Thursday, and for key workers a Tuesday & Friday. We got there about five minutes before they opened, and there were about ten people waiting with their trolleys. They opened on time, and off we went. There was no panic buying, we bought only what we needed for the week, and we were finished in under an hour and on our way home. Waitrose are doing the same for the first hour of trading every day. Besides having to get up extra early, it was no different to our usual Friday food shop. We had a coffee as soon as the shopping was put away, and I changed the bedclothes, as it was the first dry day we have had all week. J was happily playing working in the hobby room, when the phone rang. It was Peter, John's friend, He has been having water problems, and he went into hospital for tests yesterday. They kept him in overnight, and they will be keeping him in for another few days. He was ringing to ask if John would go up the hospital and pick up his house keys, so that he can go and turn his heating off. J didn't relish the thought of having to go to the hospital but Peter doesn't have anyone else, so what can you do? We are having fish & chips for our evening meal, and I am ravenous. Stay safe.
