Wildflower Week 2020
Kingcups/Marsh Marigolds, Caltha palustris, seen today on one of the waterways surrounding Devil's Island.
As an antidote to C-19 blues, I thought today I'd let you know that by popular demand the WildflowerWeek challenge will be starting again from next Sunday, 29th March. Note, UK blippers, this is the day that the clocks change and British Summertime begins, so how appropriate is that? You will have a week to get your entries in - each week these will close on the following Saturday night. That means the first week will end at midnight on Saturday 4th April. The tag will be WFW20_01
I am really excited to see what, collectively, we come up with. Five hearts and five Hon Mentions will be awarded each week, but much more important than that, don't you think, is the collaborative effort to see how many rare, unusual and different plants we can find to blip - not to mention re-seeing the beauty in some of the flowers that are so familiar it's easy to overlook their wonderful individuality! While being able to show wildflowers from different parts of the world is simply a joy!
So do give it a go if it interests you. It doesn't matter if you don't know the name of the flower/s you chose to blip - someone will always, I'm sure, be interested enough to help find the answer. And if we don't, we can still enjoy the image.
Many thanks to BikerBear (Anni) for hosting today's FlowerFriday.
And wishing you all a happy and safe weekend xx
