Not such a welcome visitor

Within ten minutes of putting sunflower hearts on the ground feeder I glanced outside and saw this rat helping herself to the seeds. I know they say that in the city your never more than a couple of metres from a rat, but here I'd much rather they kept as much distance between them and me as possible. I've nothing against rats per se, in fact as a teenager I hand reared a brood of 5 baby rats whose mother had died in the biology lab at school. Now, though, as soon as the bad weather disappears I shall remove the ground feeder until the rat takes the hint and moves on.
