Down By the River

I took a long bike ride this afternoon just to clear my head and to hopefully gain some perspective after watching the noontime news. I rode much further than usual, but then these are trying times and we need to challenge ourselves in many new ways. So I ended up down by the river... go figure. I read where Neil Young wrote the song in question back in the late sixties while delirious in bed in Topanga Canyon with a 103 °F (39 °C) fever. I must admit it was anything but a bad experience today.
