Look, but don't touch!
I took a bike ride to the Hispanic Cultural Center...no cars in the parking lot...no people. I've been here before when it's teeming. Now it was eerily silent.
As I was taking this blip a guard approached me from behind. "What are you doing?"she asked.
"Nothing much. Just taking a photo," I replied. "I mean no harm."
"Okay," she said. "I'm not sure if I'm supposed to keep you away. These are strange times."
I wanted to take hold of her hand. Make eye contact. Greet each other. I suddenly felt very lonely. I could sense she did, too.
But what could we do? I hopped on my bicycle. "It's fine. I'm leaving now."
