Friendly fantail.
"Piwakawaka "
Chirping his message loudly,
Whilst flitting around.
This native bird is commonly known as the fantail because of the shape of their tail. However I do like the Maori name for them : Piwakawaka. They follow people through the bush looking for freshly disturbed insects. They often seem to be in perpetual jerking motion and are quite hard to photograph. I rather like the movement I have captured in the beak and tail.
