2020 Friday — Whale Rock Reservoir

In the top frame, the ocean can be seen beyond the dam which is way out in the distance. The bottom frame is the view of the dam as we get off the freeway in our little town of Cayucos to head toward our house.

Today we drove out Old Creek Road to Whale Rock Reservoir. It is a 193-foot tall earthfill dam that was completed in 1961. The reservoir has a capacity of 40,662 acre feet (for my math friends). Here is what we saw from both sides of the dam.
