Cowards or idiots
In the war, any young man who was seen by certain women to be walking around and not contributing to the war effort, was given a white feather.
It was a sign that the individual was being labelled a coward.
The strength of public feeling was such that men who had served, who had critical jobs, or who had other roles that meant they could not be deployed, were given a silver pin to wear by the government.
In these times, people should perhaps remember that our grandfathers suffered far worse, but perhaps we should all stay at home lest we be given a white feather. If public shaming of lockdown flouters and selfish idiots were a thing, this would be the badge.
