The Bard

We're waiting for the haggis, neeps and tatties to be ready.
I've already spoken to Son no 1, Daughter recently arrived from Singapore and (soon to be daughter in law) in Oz and they have been sampling Burns today.
This book reminds me of one if my favourite patients of all time-Jim, a real gentleman who loved Burns. He died on Burns' birthday which was so fitting.
I was privileged two years ago to give the Toast tae the Lassies at the Mother club-the first Burns club in the world, formed in Greenock in 1801, just six years after Burns' death.
I love the songs and poetry of this man

Wilt thou be my dearie?
When sorrow wrings thy gentle heart,
O wilt thou let me cheer thee?
By the treasure of my soul,
That's the love I bear thee!
I swear and vow that only thou
Shall ever be my dearie!
Only thou, I swear and vow,
Shall ever be my dearie!
