Lock #1
canal
of 127 miles
begins
with a single
lock
Lock #1 on the Leeds-Liverpool Canal, with one of the recent Granary Wharf buildings ahead, and Canal Warehouse (built 1777) on the left. Only one hundred and twenty some miles and ninety more locks to go after this one to reach Liverpool.
Leeds old and new. View large for extra lock scum.
Further along the canal, we were looking forward to an open day at Dowley Gap aqueduct this weekend, but unfortunately it's been postponed due to the weather.
Earlier, a fabulous dawn.
