Today I only went out to deliver a sample to the Medical Centre [None of the residents is seriously ill!] but I took the opportunity to go to our local Tesco for the first time in more than a week. I'd heard that it was really busy, but I found it quiet, with calm and distanced shopping. Maybe it's worse first thing.

Afterwards I had a Skype call with a collaborator who is "holed up" in a (nice) New Jersey apartment, right in the epicentre of the US outbreak. However, he has a grocery store on the ground floor of the building and isn't into exercise, so he'll be fine. And I hope so, because he's arguably the world's smartest young optimization researcher.
