The Flintstone's Living Room
We walked in the neighborhood this afternoon. Here is someone’s front yard, with a lovely dry brook. Half is flat stones, and the other half is broken brown glass, tumbled ever so gently to soften the edges. There is a comfortable chair and a tv, everything you need to isolate. Low maintenance. You might have to zoom in to see the best detail: the encroaching stream of remotes that ends in a big pile on the table.
Last night I couldn’t fall asleep so I came downstairs a little after 11. After making a mug of golden milk, I read for a bit and then began to knit on my shawl, determined not to log on to any device. What I discovered is that the LaCrosse weather station resets itself promptly at midnight! It was thrilling to sit here and watch the hi/lo numbers get ready for a new day, and then the new day itself appeared in the lower right corner. It’s midnight, Wednesday, and the high is 42, which is also the current temperature and the low. A lot happens at midnight.
