Imprisonment - Day 4
Imprisonment - Day four
Wednesday 25th March 2020
Saw 38 vehicles today whilst cycling. I thought there may be less as the curfew starts to bite. I also saw quite a few nasty cyclists who could not be bother to return my cheary good morning. Miserable peddallers.
No moles caught today although one trap had been sprung and there were no sheep in the field to set it off so there's a so and so mole waiting to be caught. I reset the trap and fingers crossed I'll have it tomorrow.
The greenhouse is taking longer than envisaged. Some of my coach bolts turned up today as did the new carburettor for the chainsaw. I cut the plywood and timber supports to size and drilled them ready for fitting. So at the end of the day I'd got a Meccano set or Ikea flat pack waiting for nuts and bolts. If they come tomorrow I should have it finished.
Ros escaped to go scavenging for food. Shopping is the weak link in our imprisonment and is the only way the disease could be brought back to infest the house. So Ros wore blue nitrial gloves which are impervious to petrol and should keep the disease at bay together with a face mask. On her return home she changed her clothes. It was good to get first hand knowledge of the outside World. There were not many people about and all but food shops were closed. There was plenty of food about and Ros even managed to get a pack of toilet rolls. So we're now sitting pretty.
In the evening I had to chase O2 as unsurprisingly they had not done my mobile number transfer in 24 hours as they'd promised. Guess what they blamed the Corona Virus for the delay.
Later we Skyped my Cousin Laurence and his wife Carol in New Zealand to thank him for the video he'd put together following our holiday in Aix en Provence. They too are banged up in the house hence the video. It was good to talk to them again as we'd not been in contact since last September 2019.
