Chalk and Cheese

Today we had our wrinkly delivery from a well known supermarket, and it was like chalk and cheese to Tuesday’s delivery - the delivery man telephoned us when he arrived, put the stuff on our doorstep, and sat in his van until he saw me take it in.

Now that’s service, even though half the order was unavailable (see photo).  At least we were able to fill in a lot of the gaps left from Tuesday, but we are still very short of some essentials.  One good thing, we were able to help out one of our neighbours with milk - they are as vulnerable as we are and they were only heading out to the shops when we telephoned!

In desperation last week we put orders together with three supermarkets in the hope of getting at least one delivery slot.   Sainsburys recognising me as a wrinkly came out of the blue on Tuesday, so we grabbed it with both hands.   We are allowed one delivery a week (very fare/fair in my book) but when I tried to line up for next week the website told me I was not recognised for a wrinkly slot, but that seems to be tied in with only getting the delivery today.   Hopefully it is just bad wording and the slots will be open again by next week, but you just don’t know, do you?

Just a word of advice to those that want to sterilise incoming paperwork in the oven - 120 C seems to do something to the till receipts . . .

Ps - It’s good to know that the government have opened up a register so that those with underlying conditions (like Mrs W) can hopefully get assistance.
