Chichen Itza

Not quite as punishing a day-trip as the one to Palenque - though we did still get a tour of the ruins, a dodgy buffet stop (complete with some 'Folk Dancing' involving tap-dancing with beers on their heads that the three performers had clearly invented for themselves about ten minutes before we arrived) and a swimming stop at a cenote*. We even had the time and energy when we got back, hammock notwithstanding, to go out for a stroll, a bit of shopping and a nice bowl of Sopa de Lima before we turned in....
