A Highland Welcome

I always remember we have this wee book on Burns night, the Poetical Works of Robert Burns - a school 1st prize given in 1938 to a family member for a Burns Recitation.

If I had to pick out a simple wee verse I would go for this one:

Written on Parting with a Kind Host in the Highlands

When Death's dark stream I ferry o'er,
(A time that surely shall come),
In Heav'n itself I'll ask no more,
Than just a Highland welcome.
