A Distant Goodbye...
It was my mum's cousin Ian's funeral today.
Not Covet-19 related but it certainly affected how our family were able to say goodbye.
No funeral cars other than the hearse. No church service. Only immediately family allowed at the crematorium, family members sitting far apart, no hugs of comfort, and no family and friends celebration of his life afterwards.
One consolation was being able to join the service at the crematorium remotely. Not the same as being there in person but to be part of it in any way was good.
Goodnight Ian. You were a fine man. May you rest in peace.
Childhood photo of my mum and Ian (he's the little boy in the middle) in extras.
