...you can whistle for it.
Our electric kettle stopped working a few days ago. With no prospect of replacing it we dug out the old whistling kettle to use on the hob.

A dismal day's weather meant much work in the house, culminating with a lovely WhatsApp video with the young Flums and later a virtual choir practice. This was great fun, seeing everyone in their own homes and hearing no-one but ourselves as we sang the pieces we had been rehearsing before the lockdown. We had a short break at eight o'clock while we all ran to doors and windows to join our neighbours with appreciation for the NHS.
