Pigeon explosion

Dry again today, and practically no wind. Very annoying to have a sore back which is only comfortable when I'm standing up or lying down - even sitting at the computer is uncomfortable. At least walking is OK so we went out and down to the town by a different route this afternoon.

When we emerged from the footpath through Benvoulin Woods (or what's left of them as the council seems quite happy for the trees to be cut down and houses built wherever possible) then looking north to the extreme edge of Oban (where the hillside is being cut away for still more houses to be built) we spotted a flock of pigeons flying round in circles. I've seen and photographed these from different places in the past so I can only assume that they're somebody's private flock! As they turn at the end of each flight their white undersides catch the light. I looked on Google Street View to find out just where they were and to my surprise they appeared in one of their shots dated 2011!  They're not as sharp as I'd have liked, but they were at least 1/3 of a mile away.

Quote of the day:

Man Ray (artist) - “Of course, there will always be those who look only at technique, who ask 'how', while others of a more curious nature will ask 'why'. Personally, I have always preferred inspiration to information.”
