Mr. Welch, Fishmonger

Another in my occasional series of work portraits taken in Nicolson Street, Edinburgh while out on a mission to buy notebooks, and retrieve the car from the night before. It's been a busy day between Edinburgh, Glenrothes (where I single handedly assembled an IKEA sofa for my brother-in-law, Busboy, and repositioned the book case and pictures - drill in hand - to incorporate it!). A final family reunion ensued before we left the thick snowy blankets of the heights of the town and head off via Glasgow and Paisley to Largs. The route of the last leg from Kilbirnie to Largs was closed to traffic due to the snow but, thrillingly, a four wheeled drive police SUV offered to escort us across the high passes to arrive safely at my mother's house! Thank you to the kind constables concerned!
