Tomorrow is A Promise to no One

Lock Down Day 5

Himself went and got the shopping.

And was shouted at.

Despite walking in 6 ft behind the woman in front, the SS Guard in Sainsbury screamed "You are Breaking the Governmental Guidelines; One Family Member Per Shopping Trip".

Si looked at her, confused.   The Woman who was walking ahead also turned and looked, eyebrows raised.  "You, Two,  Both of you, One or the other, not both"

Si Looked at her, (with one of "those" looks no doubt, and said, I've never seen this woman in my life before). And walked on in.

Shopping done - he did have to pop out again, because he was there before Beer time.   And the scary woman was still sitting screaming at everyone.   I'm glad someone is getting some fulfilment out of this.

I got up, emptied Cosmo again, and commenced the painting of the exterior.  I even taped the windows.    Si almost fell on his back when he came in, but prevailed, because he has very sore back and didn't want to make it worse.

Once he found me some undercoat, I painted the floor too.  Then I removed my lampshades, and I even washed them.  They've just finished drying on the radiators and all all lovely and clean to go back out.

I'm finding the painting therapeutic.   When I first practised mindfulness, I wouldn't quite shut my head down enough - but now.  I am ace.  One thing, one mind, one time.   Paint. This way.  Paint That way. Paint this way. Paint. That way. Paint.   And that is how my head was for two hours today, probably more.

I'm finding it incredibly easy to switch off, during the day  - the weirdness of  a lack of freedom is not impacting on a social recluse such as I am.   The lack of ability to bimble around people watching is stressing me slightly, but not awfully.

But, whilst I was tossing and turning last night, contemplating what has become of the world, and how the world has just fallen into step with a weird way of living now, I contemplated the rainbows which are appearing in windows and doors.

I thought to myself, I have chalk, I will put a rainbow on the path tomorrow - but I had an even better idea later on.

I was amazed.

Within 10 minutes of me drawing it, the first "20 minuters" walked by, the male of the couple bouncing over the numbers.

20 minutes later, a couple came in one direction, and she partook,  5 minutes after that - the opposite direction... one of our neighbours.

If you build it.

They will come.
