Queen Hen

Pops and I collected some rescue hens today. They have reached 72 weeks old and so are past their best (according to the egg industry anyway).

We got 6 which gives us 8 in total, all egg sales going towards Poppy's Borneo fund.

They seem like a feisty bunch, this one is easily top of the pecking order (so far at least). She's had a few fights with the others, our old chickens seemed to defer to her more or less instantly (see extra, she's the proud one in the middle, the old ones are pretending she's not there ;))

We are trying to work out to get another 8, it will mean a new hen house though. I could see a future as a chicken farmer, what could possibly go wrong?
