Closed

Even the pharmacy appeared to close early today:  the other shops haven't been open for some time, and are displaying signs to say they are closed until further notice.  I wonder how many businesses will not survive the lock down.

It feels odd walking around the town: it is so empty, and the few people we do meet veer away to take avoiding action.  We did meet one couple from the photographic society with whom we exchanged greetings - from a suitable distance. Otherwise people seem to be treating each other with suspicion.  That applies particularly in the supermarket, where it appears a number of people are visitors, and are unfamiliar with the layout of the store.  It seems they are visiting the supermarket in our town because their own local supermarkets are even emptier of goods than ours.
