Flotsam

When the weather is hot and dry I keep a bowl of water at the garden tap for thirsty hedgehogs. The water attracts other creatures, some of which drown themselves in it. Today there was a Chinese paper wasp among others. The insect near the top is probably a native bee. It is 4mm long. Another I can identify is the spider mite in the lower right.

I like the way bubbles cling to the wasp's hairs, and the halo round the blobby shadows.
