Tighe Bros Brass Founders Ghost Sign

Tighe Bros started in Newtown in the early 1920s, moved to Alexandria a few years later and grew to become “the leading quality small bronze foundry” by the 1950s.

Like other light industries in this largely residential street, it closed decades ago.

It was good to see the building retained this vestige of its past when it was converted to up-market apartments.
