On the other side
We felt in need of a longer walk today, after our FaceTime cocktail with S&M last night. (Something about that doesn’t sound quite right?)
We knew the carriage drives over the moor on our side of the valley would be busy so we headed over the other side, towards Simonside. for a 6 mile round. At the car park up there was a sign put up by the National Park saying “CAR PARK CLOSED to the public. Only for use by residents and emergency services“. I feel like we live in Royston Vasey! What residents are up there? It’s 3 miles from Rothbury - but there was a lot of moaning last weekend about the car being full. The video of people going up Simonside made it look as busy as the Hilary Step.
We were going to stop at the cup and rings to eat our banana but the wind was biting and it started to hail.
Coming back through the village we saw nobody. It was as quiet as Stowmarket on the day of Princess Di’s funeral.
Thank you for all your stars and comments for Friday’s blip. I can’t believe it is 6 years. Blip is such a great way to record our lives, and keep in touch - particularly grateful for it at this time.
