Farewell.
A difficult day today as it was Mrs Tbay Jnr’s fathers funeral. Due to Corvid 19 restrictions only 10 people were allowed to attend the service which was lead by our lovely local vicar Matt.
I stayed at home to look after Little Miss and Harry and prepare food for their return. As we are self isolating ,most off the funeral attendees are here apart from Mr H’s sister who sadly was unable to join us after the funeral.
However those who wanted to could log into a live streaming of the service, which I did. It was a lovely service despite the lack of mourners. MrTbay Jnr read a lovely poem, and Mr Tbay read the beautiful 23rd Psalm. The vicar gave a short eulogy and the three daughters read out word that described their Dad . A lovely idea.
All too quickly it was time to say farewell to a beloved Dad taken just a lot too soon.
He was a much loved Dad and absolutely worshipped by the boys at the Garage which he owned and ran up to his death. To so many of them he was their Dad too. Although they could not attend the Service in a show of respect, and formed a cortège to accompany the hearse on its way to the Crematorium.
Finally some of the word read out by his three daughters describing their dad and their happiest memories. A difficult day but we are through it now.
Happy, honest, heart of gold, courageous, laid back, funny with an infectious laugh.
He loved holidays at Dartmouth, Salcombe, Malta , Gampton creek and cruising the world.
He loved his local pub, The Criterion, his local in Malta Karin Banda and the Dolphin in Dartmouth.
He loved Gin and Port and Stilton. He also enjoyed his Morgan, the Landrover, his little boat the Dory and he loved his watches. He was in their words a gentle Giant always with a glass in his hand.
