UFO

I know, this photo is objectively terrible. It's the only one I have. With the many hours I've spent sitting in the garden over the last couple of weeks I've often noticed a pair of raptor-like birds circling in the late afternoon. Much too far away to be sure, but their silhouette is very clearly different from the gulls. One of them has a regular perch on the top of 11-storey Chinasol (the reason we can't see the sea despite being only 100  metres away). This is it with my longest lens, a barely identifiable blob. But there's enough to make me think it is a bird of prey, even if I can't tell what kind. S has now found his binoculars, so we have them ready for the next time we see it.

The sun returned today, as you can see. It was warm enough to sunbathe and have lunch in the garden: S's speciality ensalada tropical, some pork kebabs bought from the excellent but now defunct butcher in the market, and lemon surprise pudding for afters.

This evening should have been my book group meeting in France, discussing the book I chose, Country by Michael Hughes. I'm stuck here, M is stuck in Krakow, and everyone else is stuck at home, so we did it on Zoom. After our Skype experience the other night I was dubious, but in fact it worked perfectly between six of us. It was lovely to see them and catch up with their news. Virtual socialising is so exciting now! So we're up for it next month too: Girl, Woman, Other. I ordered this online a month ago and had it delivered to France, expecting to be there when it arrived. Now it's stuck in the postbox at home and I can't get anyone to post it on because the post office is closed. Guess I'll have to buy it again on Kindle.

Edit: PS, anyone remembered it's the 1-year anniversary of the first No-Brexit day? Gosh, I never thought I'd miss talking about Brexit ...
