The road through the woods....

is part of the Old Military Road built by General Wade's men after Culloden in 1746, to enable the Hanoverians control the Highlands.
Today, these woodlands are owned by the town and managed by a Trust. We are lucky to have this facility and most people take advantage of it. It leads to the river and provides many excellent walks.
