Australia Day - Australian Bush

Australia Day today, and we have daughters Carly & Melinda and Grandson Peter staying with us. High on the agenda, along with a BBQ and bevvy of choice was some time in the Aussie bush.

Peter was being carried on his Mum's back, so we chose one of our favourite short walks in Blackheath, down onto the edge of Centennial Glen, along the base of Walls Ledge, and back through the heathland on top of the plateau to the car. It's a very picturesque walk with striking tall gum trees, sandstone cliff faces, a little grotto full of ferns, striking views and interesting heath vegetation.

The shot I'm blipping is one taken from the base of the Walls Ledge cliff face (with a few rock climbers enjoying Australia Day), across to the rugged cliff face adjacent to Centennial Glen.
